377: How to Unlock and Activate the Wisdom of Others with Craig Lemasters

My guest today is one of the most understanding and forgiving people I’ve ever met. How do I know? Because, for the first time in nearly 8 years, I had to reschedule an interview. I know. That doesn’t sound like a big deal.

But by “reschedule,” I really mean schedule a second time. As in, the first time we recorded our chat, something went awry. I was devasted and embarrassed to have to reach out to Craig to say, “Hey, can we do it all over again?”

Craig, however, was incredibly gracious. And, the good news is, I think our interview the second time was even better than the first awesome version you almost heard.

Craig and I dive into his book called Unstuck: How to Unlock and Activate the Wisdom of Others.

In it, Craig shares techniques he has used in a lifetime of helping Fortune 500 companies tackle the challenge of getting unstuck as they struggle to survive and grow.

337: Change (the) Management with Author Al Comeaux

Today’s guest is a former Travelocity, GE, and American Airlines executive.

He is a decorated corporate pioneer and global authority on change from inside organizations.

al comeaux

I’m talking about Al Comeaux (pronounced COH-moh). His career championing change as a senior leader at uber-disruptive dot-coms as well as established, world-renowned companies – and his twenty-year journey researching why so many change efforts fail and what’s needed for success – make him one of the world’s most forward thinkers on what leaders must do – and how they must think – to succeed at change.

His new book is called Change (the) Management: Why We as Leaders Must Change for the Change to Last.

Make sure you visit Al’s website to score a free chapter from the new book.

And be sure and check out Scott Maderer over at the Inspired Stewardship Podcast. He was kind enough to introduce me to Al.

317: No One’s Listening and It’s Your Fault with Pam Marmon

When I first chatted with today’s guest for this week’s episode, a very specific phrase kept coming to my mind. She is a ‘breath of fresh air.’

Hopefully, it won’t be the last time she and I talk.

Pam Marmon

Her name is Pam Marmon, and if there’s anyone who should know what it takes to successfully navigate change and transform an organization in the process, it’s her.

After all, at age 12, she and her family moved to the U.S. from Bulgaria.

Can you imagine moving to a new country where you know no one, don’t know the language, you’ve left behind all your friends…and you’re 12?!

Resilient doesn’t even begin to describe her.

Her new book, by the way, is called No One’s Listening and It’s Your Fault: Get Your Message Heard During Organization Transformations.

To put it simply, Pam’s book is about one thing: with the proper process, change is not hard.

251: How Lasting Change Can Happen in an Instant

With author James Fell

If you read my About page, you’ll see that one of my goals is to help you transition from the things you’d like to do, to actually doing them.

As the page reads, “to help you go from intention to implementation.”

james fell

In today’s featured book, author James Fell desires to help you do the same, but by showing it’s possible to skip the hard part and go directly from intention to committed action. Say what?!

This new book, out today, is called The Holy Sh!t Moment: How Lasting Change Can Happen in an Instant.

James says significant life change doesn’t often come from just putting one foot in front of the other, carefully observing and altering habits, slogging through baby steps toward new behavior.

No! The research, he says, reveals that serious life turnaround usually happens in a moment, with a flash of inspiration. Epiphany arrives like a lightning strike, rapidly shifting the recipient of such enlightenment onto a new path that creates a better life.
