340: The Bridge From Your Dreams to Your Destiny with Mark Victor Hansen

Today, I owe a special thanks to Dov Gordon and Steve Sponseller.

Together, these two gentlemen made it possible for me to connect with the prolific author I have the privilege of bringing to you today

mark victor hansen

That author is none other than the co-creator (along with Jack Canfield) of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books, Mark Victor Hansen; a series that has surpassed a half-billion books sold!

Today, I’m talking with Mark about a book he released earlier this year titled Ask: The Bridge From Your Dreams to Your Destiny.

You were born with a destiny, Mark says. Your job is to discover it. Once you begin to practice the art and science of asking to discover your destiny and start to move toward it, you can manifest innumerable blessings for yourself and others.

This isn’t a complicated process; in fact, it’s a simple gift that lies dormant within you. Once you learn to access that gift, everything changes for the better. Ask! will help you access your hidden dreams and reveal them to be recognized and fulfilled in miraculous ways.

You matter. The world needs you to find your destiny and live it. This book is your guide. Start crossing the bridge to your destiny today!

338: 48 Days to the Work (and Life) You Love with Dan Miller

I mean it when I say that today’s guest is easily one of my favorite authors in the world.

But even more important than that, he’s become one of my friends and one of my mentors (AND, one of my favorite people on the planet).

Dan Miller

I’m talking of course about New York Times bestselling author Dan Miller. Dan is keeping his promise of updating – every five years – the book that started it all.

That book is the 20th-anniversary edition of 48 Days to the Work (and Life) You Love: Find It – Or Create It.

Click that link above for a host of resources Dan has just for you as a listener to Read to Lead.

I encourage you to not only pick up a copy of his book for yourself but anyone else you know who could benefit from reading it.

337: Change (the) Management with Author Al Comeaux

Today’s guest is a former Travelocity, GE, and American Airlines executive.

He is a decorated corporate pioneer and global authority on change from inside organizations.

al comeaux

I’m talking about Al Comeaux (pronounced COH-moh). His career championing change as a senior leader at uber-disruptive dot-coms as well as established, world-renowned companies – and his twenty-year journey researching why so many change efforts fail and what’s needed for success – make him one of the world’s most forward thinkers on what leaders must do – and how they must think – to succeed at change.

His new book is called Change (the) Management: Why We as Leaders Must Change for the Change to Last.

Make sure you visit Al’s website to score a free chapter from the new book.

And be sure and check out Scott Maderer over at the Inspired Stewardship Podcast. He was kind enough to introduce me to Al.

335: How to WIN in a World of Comparison with Renee Vidor

One of the amazing things about hosting a podcast, particularly an interview-focused podcast, is the opportunities it presents to meet truly amazing people.

A podcast facilitates this in a number of ways. In the case of today’s guest, I first met her after speaking at an author conference she attended in 2018.

Her name is Renee Vidor and, earlier this summer, in the midst of a global pandemic, she forged ahead and released her first book.

It’s called Measuring Up: How to WIN in a World of Comparison.

Renee is an author (duh!), speaker, and community creator who helps individuals and organizations discover how to be who they are created to be so that they can do what they are designed to do.

In her new book, she shows you how to stop giving comparison power and take control of your life, starting now!

334: The Business of Friendship with Shasta Nelson

We need to change our mindset.  The phrase “I’m not here to make friends,” is the opposite of how we should think about our workplace.

So says my guest today who is an expert on building healthy and appropriate friendships in the workplace.

shasta nelson

Her name is Shasta Nelson and she was an absolute delight to chat with. I learned a lot from her and from her book.

It’s called The Business of Friendship: Making the Most of Our Relationships Where We Spend Most of Our Time.

By not encouraging workplace friendships, Shasta says, companies and managers are missing out on a crucial opportunity to foster an inclusive and engaging environment where employees are more likely to want to spend the majority of their time.

By the way, her previous books include Frientimacy: How to Deepen Friendships for Lifelong Health and Happiness, and Friendships Don’t Just Happen! The Guide to Creating a Meaningful Circle of Girlfriends
