306: The Successful Speaker with Grant Baldwin

My guest today has been a friend of mine for a few years now.

I’ve learned a ton from him just watching him and picking up on how he does what he does.

What makes him special? In my opinion, he’s one of the best there is at his craft: the fine art of public speaking.

His name is Grant Baldwin and he’s written a brand new book, out today, along with four-time Read to Lead guest Jeff Goins.

It’s called The Successful Speaker: Five Steps for Booking Gigs, Getting Paid, and Building Your Platform.

Within a week of reading Grant’s book, I secured my own speaking gig worth thousands of dollars using the techniques I learned. It’s that good!

After losing his job as an architect in 2008 as the U.S. economy struggled, Pat turned to the internet for a possible new career path. If you’re like everyone else, you have too much to do and too little time to do it. Problem is, that’s not going to change. Brian helps you get clear on what is really important so that you can spend more time doing the things that matter and less time on the things that don’t.

His latest book is his second co-written with his daughter Christina Stein. It’s called Find Your Balance Point: Clarify Your Priorities, Simplify Your Life, and Achieve More. It’s a delightful read and comes in at just 94 pages (more business books could benefit from brevity in my humble opinion).
