Write a book, of course! That according to Honorée Corder, author of 20-plus books including 2016’s You MUST Write a Book: Boost Your Brand, Get More Business, and Become the Go-To Expert.

But during the book’s launch and after it’s out in the world (and for the rest of your natural life) you must market that book!

Honorée has sold hundreds of thousands of book in ways most authors have never considered. She’s coached authors to successful writing careers and has co-authored and managed many books (including The Miracle Morning series).

Where to begin?

New and even experienced authors often feel overwhelmed by everything they’re told they must do. It can be hard to know where one should be putting their energy. Honorée has a gift for teaching what’s important in a way that’s easy to understand and remember.

In this book, Honorée takes a complicated subject and makes it simple to put into practice. She will get you excited to start the journey from the first work to bestseller.

433: Why You MUST Write a Book with Honoree Corder

What is the single best tool an entrepreneur needs to build, boost, and grow their business? Win an Olympic Gold Medal? Sure! That’d be great. But apart from that?

Write a book, of course! So says today’s returning guest, Honorée Corder, author of 20-plus books including 2016’s You MUST Write a Book: Boost Your Brand, Get More Business, and Become the Go-To Expert.

Beyond technology, software, social media networks, even advertising and marketing campaigns, Honorée says the biggest and best tool you’ll ever have in your belt is a book with your name on the cover. What’s a book do for you? Let us count the ways…

Authority and Credibility–Nothing establishes your authority faster or better, making it easier to attract investors, clients, and customers.

Brand recognition–Nothing makes your name and your brand easier to recognize, giving you greater reach with no additional overhead.

The ultimate business card–We’re hard-wired to hold on to books, to keep and care for them, and to share them with others. When’s the last time someone did that with your business card?

You Must Write a Book introduces you to these concepts and digs further–revealing not only the benefits of how a book can help you to build and grow your business and your brand but how you can put your ideas on the page.

Episode #152: How to Go from Blank Page to Published Author with Chandler Bolt

Author of "Published"

I am always delighted to welcome a previous guest back for another line of questioning.

This time we get to hear again from Chandler Both. Chandler first visited us in Episode #070 of the show when we talked about his then new book called Book Launch.

This time around, Chandler is again out with a new book, this time called Published: A Proven Path from Blank Page to Published Author.

In this episode, I’ll ask Chandler to walk us through each phase of the publishing process, from idea development, writing, and editing, to choosing a title, putting together a launch team, and marketing your new book to success.

And, Chandler says you can do it all in under 90 days! What?!

Episode #124: The Secret to Solving Your Toughest Sales Challenges

With Tim Sanders

tim sandersPrior to sitting down with Tim Sanders for the first time, I knew very little about him.

An earlier book he’d written, Love is the Killer App, was one I’d heard good things about but had not yet read.

In the case of Tim’s new book, Dealstorming: The Secret Weapon That Can Solve Your Toughest Sales Challenges, many people I respected were talking about it in my Facebook and Twitter feeds. People like Chris Brogan, David Burkus and Michael Port among others. I knew I had to investigate and consider inviting him onto the show.

The topic of sales is not one that comes up on this podcast often. However, if my experience as a leader has taught me anything, it’s that everyone is essentially in sales now. Meaning, the silo’d days of old are over. In Dealstorming, Tim suggests that “one of your most important leadership missions is to overcome the bias against cross-departmental collaboration.”

Episode #106: How to Guarantee a Standing Ovation for All the Performances in Your Life

...featuring Michael Port, author of Steal the Show

Michael PortWhether you realize it or not, you are a performer.

That’s right. We all are in fact. We’re performing every day of our lives: at work, at home, online, at dinner, and in virtually every other scenario in which we find ourselves.

For most of us, we do it without thinking. We naturally play our various roles without a moment’s thought toward our chameleon-like nature. It’s not that we aren’t being true to who we are. We just instinctively understand subconsciously that each of our roles requires us to emphasize different aspects of who we truly are.

So says Michael Port, today’s guest on Read to Lead.

Michael takes on this topic and more in his new book, Steal the Show…from Speeches to Job Interviews to Deal-Closing Pitches: How to Guarantee a Standing Ovation for All the Performances in Your Life.
