Episode #098: The 5 Laws of Stratospheric Success with Bob Burg

Co-author of The Go-Giver

Bob BurgEven if you don’t recognize today’s guest by name, chances are the title of his book is one you’ve heard mentioned again and again the last several years.

Bob Burg is the author of a half a dozen books! He is a sought-after speaker at company leadership and sales conferences. He regularly addresses audiences ranging in size from 50 to 16,000.

My 4 Keys to Goal-Setting Success

Hint: It's Not as Hard as You Think

Studies show that if you regularly set goals, especially if you write them down, then you’re easily in the minority.

Many of those same studies show that those of us who do track goals are far more likely to experience a more satisfying and meaningful life. So, it begs the obvious question: Why don’t more people practice goal setting?

I think one of the main reasons is most of us have been brainwashed to believe – often inadvertently – that life is something that happens to us, as opposed to something we have the ability to shape and impact.

Another reason goal setting isn’t practiced more widely is because of a common, goal setting misconception: It’s just plain hard.

Episode #097: Finding Your Balance Point with Brian Tracy

Co-written with Christina Stein

Brian TracyI’ve had more requests about interviewing today’s guest that anyone else I can think of.

Brian Tracy is the author of more than 50 books! In addition to author, he is a speaker, and entrepreneur, business coach and a CEO. His goal is to help  you achieve your personal and business goals faster and easier than you ever thought possible.

If you’re like everyone else, you have too much to do and too little time to do it. Problem is, that’s not going to change. Brian helps you get clear on what is really important so that you can spend more time doing the things that matter and less time on the things that don’t.

His latest book is his second co-written with his daughter Christina Stein. It’s called Find Your Balance Point: Clarify Your Priorities, Simplify Your Life, and Achieve More. It’s a delightful read and comes in at just 94 pages (more business books could benefit from brevity in my humble opinion).

Episode #094: My Best Presentation Tips and Tools

Gather Your Ideas, Craft Your Slides and Deliver Your Talk

Recently, I had the opportunity to speak at the Podcast Movement conference. It was easily one of the best conferences I’ve ever attended. Hard to believe it’s only in its second year.

It was an honor to share the stage with some pretty big names! And though I’d like to believe I bring my “A” game every time, finding myself in this group would require me to pull out all the stops.

Thankfully, my speaking opportunities have increased considerably in the two years since launching this podcast, giving me the chance to hone my skills on smaller stages.

Episode #093: Harness the Power of Your Authentic Voice

A conversation with Louder Than Words author Todd Henry

todd henry

Easily one of my favorite authors of the last few years is the gentleman who is our guest today.

Todd Henry’s first book, The Accidental Creative: How to Be Brilliant at a Moment’s Notice, hit the scene in 2011, making a sizable splash in the process. His next book, Die Empty: Unleash Your Best Work Every Day was easily my favorite book of 2013 and prompted his first appearance on this show at Episode #017.

His newest book, Louder Than Words: Harness the Power of Your Authentic Voice, has skyrocketed to the top of my list of 2015. Pre-order it before August 11, and you’ll get a ton of free bonuses.

But if you do nothing else, listen to Todd’s answer to my first question in this interview. I ask that question beginning at 4:49. Todd says in part:

It doesn’t matter what you want or what you care about if other people don’t receive that. If they’re not able to connect with what it is you’re trying to do, then your efforts are going to be futile.
