373: 50 Lessons for Life and Leadership with Brian Sanders

I’m always fond of interviewing authors who have spent time in my former profession; that being broadcaster.

brian sanders

This time around, and for the second week in a row, my guest is indeed a broadcaster turned author (and in this case, still a broadcaster).

His name is Brian Sanders, and if that name sounds familiar, it might be because he was first my guest exactly six months ago today, December 1, 2020, to talk about his last book Leadership Endurance.

His new book, out now, is called Be Like Dad: 50 Lessons for Life & Leadership. Brian’s passion for leadership has led him to pursue deep-dive research into some of the greatest leaders of all time, including his own Dad.

372: How to Talk to Yourself the Way God Talks to You with John Stange

First, I have to say a big “Thank you!” to Vincent Pugliese without whom I might not know today’s guest existed.

john stange

His name is John Stange, and he pastors a church in Pennsylvania. John has written a book on one of my favorite topics: Mindset.

However, John tackles this topic from a perspective I don’t often see in the non-fiction world: a biblical one. That fascinated me, hence the reason I’m presenting him and his book to you today.

There’s no need to remain stuck thinking unhelpful thoughts, John says. In his book, you can learn how to can fill your mind with encouraging, life-enriching truths through a gospel-saturated, 31-day challenge that can help you replace a destructive mindset with a positive, empowering, and godly one.

Change your life by changing the messages that enter your mind!

369: Future-Proofing You with Jay Samit

I always enjoy welcoming a returning guest. In this instance, it’s been nearly six years since he last appeared.

jay samit

I’m talking about author Jay Samit, who wrote one of my favorite books of 2015. It’s called Disrupt You!: Master Personal Transformation, Seize Opportunity, and Thrive in an Endless Era of Innovation.

The book we’re diving into this time around is another stellar read. It’s called Future-Proofing You: Twelve Truths for Creating Opportunity, Maximizing Wealth, and Controlling your Destiny in an Uncertain World.

It’s perfect for anyone who is tired of jobs with no security (amen!), hopes to truly realize their professional and personal potential (where do I sign up?), and is looking for a way to build a better life for them and their family (yes, please!).

I hope you’ll click the play button below to learn more about Jay and his work. For a summary, just keep scrolling.

368: When Grit, Grace, and Faith Take Depression Head-On with Victoria Mininger

For the second week in a row, I have the chance to interview someone I might never have met were it not for a mutual friend. That friend’s name is Dan Miller.

victoria mininger

A few weeks ago, Dan was kind enough to suggest I consider chatting with Victoria Mininger about her new (as of January) book. Victoria’s book covers a topic that I don’t know has ever been explored on the podcast.

That book is Daring to Fight: When Grit, Grace, and Faith Take Depression Head-On. I was particularly interested in Victoria’s battle with depression as it relates to her work as an entrepreneur, former pastor’s wife, and as a mother.

In her new book, she candidly shares her depression battle and lays out the steps she took – steps you can take – to fight it every day. It’s essentially an eight-week guidebook.

I hope you’ll click the play button below to learn more about Victoria and her work. For a summary, just keep scrolling.

366: Win at Work and Succeed at Life with Megan Hyatt Miller

While last week’s guest (Jon Acuff) made his fourth appearance, today’s guest is making her first, and not likely her last if I have anything to say about it.

megan hyatt miller

I’m talking about Michael Hyatt & Co’s new CEO, Megan Hyatt Miller.

She’s just co-authored a book with her father and two-time Read to Lead guest Michael Hyatt called Win at Work and Succeed at Life: 5 Principles to Free Yourself From the Cult of Overwork.

The book releases on April 20th but is available for pre-order now. And, you’ll get access to some AMAZING bonuses worth several hundred, to several thousand dollars, when you pre-order it, so don’t wait!

In the book, Megan and Michael address things like how COVID changed their company for the better, why we overwork, and five questions to ask yourself to jumpstart your life, among other issues.

If you didn’t think it was possible to multiply your revenues while, at the same time, slashing your hours, think again. Megan and Michael’s new book shows you how.
