384: The Truth About AI and the Future of Humanity with Steve Shwartz

My friend and former mastermind group member, Steve Sponseller, was kind of enough to introduce me to today’s guest a few months ago and I am thrilled he did.

steve shwartz

His name is also Steve. Steve Shwartz to be specific: AI expert, investor, and serial entrepreneur.

Steve began his AI career working with Roger Schank as a postdoctoral researcher in the Yale University Artificial Intelligence Lab. Steve was a founder or cofounder of several AI companies, one of which created the award-winning Esperant business intelligence product.

As the AI Winter of the 1990s set in, Steve transitioned into a career as a successful serial software entrepreneur and investor and created several companies that were either acquired or had public offerings.

His new book has probably my favorite title of the last couple of years. It’s called Evil Robots, Killer Computers, and Other Myths: The Truth About AI and the Future of Humanity.

378: The 8 Step Blueprint To Building A Profitable Personal Brand Business with Mike Kim

I first met Mike Kim at the first-ever Podcast Movement conference in 2014, and I liked him immediately. Unassuming, humble, but incredibly smart and well-spoken. My kinda guy.

Mike Kim

But that ain’t the half of it, as they say.

Mike is someone I have so much respect for. Everything he does, he does with absolute class. He’s an amazing teacher and a fantastic and confident public speaker.

And I love the fact that after meeting him nearly 8 years ago at that “little” conference, he’s finally coming out with a book (just one month before me), making it possible for me to have him on Read to Lead.

Mike’s new book, releasing next week, is called You Are the Brand: The 8-Step Blueprint to Showcase Your Unique Expertise and Build a Highly Profitable, Personally Fulfilling Business.

369: Future-Proofing You with Jay Samit

I always enjoy welcoming a returning guest. In this instance, it’s been nearly six years since he last appeared.

jay samit

I’m talking about author Jay Samit, who wrote one of my favorite books of 2015. It’s called Disrupt You!: Master Personal Transformation, Seize Opportunity, and Thrive in an Endless Era of Innovation.

The book we’re diving into this time around is another stellar read. It’s called Future-Proofing You: Twelve Truths for Creating Opportunity, Maximizing Wealth, and Controlling your Destiny in an Uncertain World.

It’s perfect for anyone who is tired of jobs with no security (amen!), hopes to truly realize their professional and personal potential (where do I sign up?), and is looking for a way to build a better life for them and their family (yes, please!).

367: The Quest to Build a Culture That Rocks with Arnie Malham

How someone could create something called the Better Book Club and it not be on my radar is crazy. Especially considering they’re in my own backyard of Nashville, Tennessee!

arnie malham

Thankfully, I have friends. I know strange, right? One of them is a guy named Dave Delaney.

Thanks to Dave, I’m no longer a stranger to the Better Book Club. More importantly, I’m no longer a stranger to the man who created it. His name is Arnie Malham.

And now, thanks to the magic of technology, I get to make sure he’s someone who know as well. You’re welcome!

Arnie’s book, Worth Doing Wrong: The Quest to Build a Culture That Rocks was released in 2016 and is one of my all-time favorite books on the topic of culture.

In it, Arnie covers executable strategies and real-world tactics for creating a culture that will help you smash you business goals, achieve win-win relationships with your clients, generate buzz in your community, and cultivate a workplace that you and your team members will love.

366: Win at Work and Succeed at Life with Megan Hyatt Miller

While last week’s guest (Jon Acuff) made his fourth appearance, today’s guest is making her first, and not likely her last if I have anything to say about it.

megan hyatt miller

I’m talking about Michael Hyatt & Co’s new CEO, Megan Hyatt Miller.

She’s just co-authored a book with her father and two-time Read to Lead guest Michael Hyatt called Win at Work and Succeed at Life: 5 Principles to Free Yourself From the Cult of Overwork.

The book releases on April 20th but is available for pre-order now. And, you’ll get access to some AMAZING bonuses worth several hundred, to several thousand dollars, when you pre-order it, so don’t wait!

In the book, Megan and Michael address things like how COVID changed their company for the better, why we overwork, and five questions to ask yourself to jumpstart your life, among other issues.

If you didn’t think it was possible to multiply your revenues while, at the same time, slashing your hours, think again. Megan and Michael’s new book shows you how.

I hope you’ll click the play button below to learn more about Megan and her work. For a summary, just keep scrolling.
