If you’ve ever wondered how I get some of my guests to come on the show, you can thank, well, my guests.

As I’ve progressed through this journey called a podcast, I’ve had the opportunity to network with some of the smartest people on the planet.

258: Dead End Job? Do This Next!

Today, I want to share with you some crucial career advice, at least one element of which has taken me longer to learn than I’d like to admit.

These are the next three steps you need to take if your current job is no longer fulfilling you and you’re not sure what to do next.

jeff brown

Now, it may be that you simply need to find a new job. It may also mean, it’s time for you to take the leap and venture out on your own; a dream of many, but a path that is taken by few.

1. Begin with the End in Mind

Set a deadline, a date in the future by which you desire to ultimately make the transition.

The first time we set this kind of goal, it made all the difference. At one point in our marriage, my wife and I decided we wanted her to have the freedom to stay at home.

So, we began by picking a date into the future, by which we wanted to make this a reality.

Our choice was aided by determining how much of a nest egg we felt was necessary, and how long it would take us to aggressively save that much money.

256: 3 Reasons to Leave Your Day Job and Go Boss-Free

With details about the Boss-Free Virtual Summit

Are you unhappy where you’re at in your career? Did you dread getting up this morning and driving to work? If so, then today’s episode is especially for you.

Recent studies show you’re not alone. An Inc.com article from last year pointed out that over 70 percent of workers say they are dissatisfied in their jobs.

A recent Gallup poll says that “87 percent of workers are emotionally disconnected from their workplaces and less likely to be productive.”

If you’re in that group I feel for you because that was me at one time. And to make matters worse, I had no idea what my next move should be.

What I did know was that if I stayed in the same industry, the opportunities where I lived were limited. And I wasn’t willing to move to another town.

What I really wanted to do was venture out on my own. But, I wasn’t even sure what I’d do for an income. I wanted to be my own boss, but the question was…the boss of what?!

If you can relate, check out my latest episode below and learn more about my upcoming Boss Free Virtual Summit.
